…and how it almost killed me.
Yes, I know, it has been 3 months since I last wrote an entry. A lot has happened, but not enough to blog about it every day and bore you to death with the intricate details of the torture that was the preparation for this move. Here is a distilled version of what we’ve been up to: Continue reading It’s been a while…Preparations for a Trans-Continental move…
It sure feels like that there is a lot of “waiting” happening around the house these days. Yes, we are all busy with work and the daily routines, but there is something else going on as well.
“Have you heard anything about your application?”…“no”
“Have they sent you anything yet?”.…“nope”
The sound of crickets chirping….. Continue reading The Waiting Game
Good News for Hannah—
Last week our daughter Hannah received a promising e-mail. She was accepted into Goldsmiths College, University of London.
She was offered a spot in their BA in Drama and Theatre Arts program. Only requirement to fulfill: Completed High School diploma with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. And herein lies the catch. Continue reading College-bound kid…gare à toi!
The Deliciousness that is Europe—
As I was waiting for my flight to London a few weeks back, I decided to have lunch in SeaTac’s S Terminal. Right from the start I though “bad idea….terminal food”. The most visually arresting lunch was a burger that was advertised on the restaurant’s shiny display. Continue reading Gordon Ramsay does not disappoint
How not to rent a car
I traveled to Ireland last week. “Uuuuh…Ireland…that must have been a fun trip!” Naaah….not really. I love Ireland. However, a pressing family matter needed all of my attention this time around.

Went to an Ugly Sweater Party last night. Some outfits were imaginative, others downright scary. I always feel awkward at parties and found myself firmly planted on the family couch, next to the tree.
I’ve had a….shall we say, less than loving relationship with cats over the years. It started with my friend Greg’s cat in Ireland. Continue reading Of Cats and Christmas Trees

I participated in the local Art tour over the past 2 weekends and managed to sell the majority of my paintings that I had created over the past 20 years. Continue reading Art to Go
So here it is…our blog!
All I wanted to do was post a picture or two on Facebook, but no! Friends wanted us to post our progress on a blog. …Ta-da! I am here to please.
What happened so far:
I was born in Austria and lived in Austria, Germany and Ireland during my early years. After living with my wife in the US for the past 27 years, it is time to head back to Europe.
Over the past 2-3 years I felt increasingly fenced in / anchored down. We have lived in our present house for the past 13 years. 13 YEARS!!! I have never lived anywhere for this long before. Continue reading 188 Days, 0 Hours, 1 Minute and 4 Seconds to Go
